Gustavian Style

Ilva

REF 1144

The Gustavian Style is an elegant, sober and simplified reworking of the opulent French Rococo and neo-classical furnishing. Born in the second half of the eighteenth century, thanks to the King of Sweden Gustav III, a cultured art lover, this furniture style is still known by his name .

Today, the furniture reproductions in this style are particularly appreciated: thanks to their austere forms, respecting the typically neoclassical lines and symmetries, give the environment an elegant and refined atmosphere, yet simple and without excess.

The top coats to be used in the manufacturing of Gustavian style furniture must be matt, in the typical clear and bright and delicate colors, suitable to capture the little light of the Northern cold climate, such as white, gray, yellow ochre, blue, sage green, pink and ivory.
