The top-coat that changes wood into a perfectly scratch-resistant velvet surface

In IVM Chemicals laboratories was born Ilva Velvet Diamond - TS168, the polyurethane top-coat that changes wood into a perfectly scratch-resistant velvet surface. The “soft touch” effect top-coats, appreciated for their aesthetic and tactile features, have been used until today on a few furniture elements: in fact, their limited surface hardness did not make them suitable for applications requiring resistance to scratches and abrasions.

With Ilva Velvet Diamond it is finally possible to think of modern furniture, profiles, doors, boards and home accessories that join the particular aesthetic and tactile effect (a combination between that known as “rubber” and those known as “peach”,  “silk” or “velvet”)  to absolute scratch-resistance.

Its qualities, and the compliance with EN 71/3 regulation, make it particularly appreciated for children’s furniture and toys.  It is suitable for application on woods and MDF, and it can also be used on paper for lacquered items.Ilva Velvet Diamond clear and satin top-coat can be used with all polyurethane and polyester sealers in stained or pigmented cycles.
